Any help with my cell phone?

i have the verizon cosmo and i have only had it for about a month and i set my phone on my counter, took a shower, got out, checked my phone and the screen didnt light up. the keys still light up but the screen is just black. i turned it off and took the battery out a billion times and nothing changed. why did this happen & is there ANY way to fix this?! im addicted to my phone and i have really bad anxiety when i dont have it or when it doesnt work. please help me, thanks ):
