How can one work in a salon and attend college at the same time?

Right now I am attending a cosmetology school half of the day while attending highschool the other half. I am currently a junior, well going to be a junior when school starts up again. I am in cosmo mainly so I can work my way through college, but I was wondering how exactly one can work at a salon and still attend college? I want to go for counseling (college that is) yet at the same time would like to be doing something I love for money while working at my degree. If anyone can help me figure out how that would work out, it would be greatly appreciated.
